Pura Kehen as a Symbol of Balinese Heritage
Pura Kehen is a must-visit temple in Bangli, renowned for its unique architecture and stunning views of Cempaga Village. Unlike typical temples, Pura Kehen features a closed entrance (Candi Kurung) that leads visitors up steps flanked by warrior statues, culminating in an intricately carved entryway.
The temple, located at Jl. Sriwijaya No.8, Cempaga Village, is a significant piece of Balinese heritage, estimated to date back to between the 800s and early 1000s. Inside, you’ll find a sacred banyan tree believed to predict disasters, along with various pelinggih (sacred shrines) that host tiered pagodas.
