On the 3rd of Saturday in September every year, volunteers in various countries join the International Coastal Clean Up (ICC). International Coastal Clean Up (ICC) was pioneered by Ocean Conservancy since 1986. Currently around 12 million people have participated. The special thing of ICC is it preferable focused on the inorganic / plastic waste which is collected, categorized, and counted in a group of people.

ICC was chosen because it is relevant to the problems faced in Bali as one of the tourist destinations known as marine wealth. We care about the problem of plastic waste pollution in the ocean that happens every year. Many hotels in Bali participated in this event including Bali Garden Beach Resort which is located right on the beach. 25 employees from Bali Garden Beach Resort clean the seashore started from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and got many kilos of inorganic and plastic trashes.

It was fun when they collected, and categorized the trashes and write them on the trash list in the same time and then weighed them at the end. Therefore, the form then submitted to the coordinator of the zone area concerned and then finally reported to center of the ocean conservancy.

The International Coastal Cleanup has become a hope, leading and inspiring action in support of our ocean. We hope we’ll see you at the next International Coastal Cleanup!

Recognition or achievement from company was the top motivator for performance. An “Employee-of-the-Month” program can boost morale and motivate employees to try harder. It’s very powerful tool to boost morale, productivity and performance, motivate employees and promote a culture of public praise, excellence awards and recognition. “Employee-of-the-Month, this is the regular monthly program that recognizes employees who go above and beyond typical job expectations, provide outstanding customer service, or perform distinctive achievements and have such quality of work that impact the department/institution.

This appreciation and recognition was for 3 employees from Security Department : I Dewa Putu Kaler, Nyoman raka Putra Udyana, I Gusti Bagus Arta . They had been nominated because they found the smoke and spark from the garden lamp/cable which was caused by the water drain of Air Conditioner. They have saved the place from the indication of fire. Congratulation ! You were worthy to be winner of the EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH SEPTEMBER 2018.

At 7:30 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018, Indonesia President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated the 121-meter-tall GARUDA WISNU KENCANA MONUMENT (GWK) at Ungusan, South Bali.

As reported by NUSABALI, the President proclaimed the monument statue a work of “great art in the modern era”. Speaking before the large audience on hand to witness the monument’s “official” launch, President Joko Widodo said: “On this beautiful evening, I am very pleased to join you all to view this great colossal work of art by a Son of the Nation – the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Monument. I call this a colossal work of art because this statues is one of the tallest in the world.”

The President went on to explain that the GWK MONUMENT is the third tallest monument in the world after the SPRING TEMPLE BUDDHA in China and THE LAYKYUN SEKKYA BUDDHA in Myanmar. The GWK MONUMENT is higher than the STATUE OF LIBERTY in New York City.

The President said the GWK MONUMENT should serve as a source of pride for the Indonesian people as a whole. Adding: “As background to the colossal statue there is one fact that should embolden us all: The work of art grew from the inspiration and courage to have a big idea. The courage to have a great dream. The courage to make great leaps of faith. Without such courage, it would be difficult to give birth to such a large work of art.”

From start to finish the creation and construction of the GWK MONUMENT consumed 28 years.

The President said the monument proves that the Indonesia nation are not only the inheritors of ancient monuments such as the BOROBUDUR TEMPLE and PRAMBANAN TEMPLE, but also proves that the current generation remain creative and energetic to create for the ages, a great monument that speaks to the world.

The President expressed his gratitude for the commitment of Balinese artists Nyoman Nuarta who led the team of artists and engineers that created GWK.

Saraswati will celebrate on 13 October 2018 is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and nature. She is symbolized by an attractive woman with a white swan among water lilies.
The swan symbolizes prudence, so that one’s knowledge is able to distinguish between good and evil.

On Saraswati day the Balinese will bring offerings to the holy books and scrolls in their houses. Students will celebrate Saraswati at school usually in the morning. Balinese people who have an office job will make offerings at their office.

In the afternoon, the Balinese are not allowed to read or write books because all the books are blessed. In the evening, people will read books (preferably religious books) at home or in the temple.

Four days after Saraswati comes Pagerwesi
Held in 17 October – Pagerwesi is the concluding day for the ‘wealth’ series of celebrations. It signifies spiritual ‘reinforcement’. Its name, combining the words pager and wesi, suggests ‘iron fence’ in English. Anything of high importance, the soul and spirit in this sense, should be protected from negative influences. The day is the final significant highlight in this series of holy days in Bali. It aims to protect the blessed subjects of spiritual assets celebrated in the previous days.

Nusa Dua Fiesta 2018 brings back the fun and colourful week of arts exhibitions, cultural performances and sporting events to its namesake luxury beach resort area on Bali’s southeast coast. First held in 1996 as Nusa Dua Festival and becoming a fiesta in its ninth year, it welcomes the general public to this otherwise exclusive tourism enclave, with different shows and events held in various venues throughout Nusa Dua.

This year’s Nusa Dua Fiesta is slated to kick off on Wednesday, October 10 with an evening opening ceremony at Nusa Dua’s landmark peninsular area. Earlier in the morning you can admire various handicrafts on display here, as well as unique bonsais and an antique automobile show. In the afternoon, the streets come alive with parades featuring vivid floats from all of the five-star resorts in Nusa Dua’s ITDC complex.

You’ll be able to visit the exhibits throughout the festival’s five days through October 15, and even take home an attractive memento offered at bargain prices. In line with the festival’s spirit of promoting environmental awareness, day two features a beach clean-up along the coastline. Foodies should look out for the cooking competition held by the Indonesian Chefs Association on the same day, as well as a mixology competition where you can sample a sip from the island’s best bartenders.

Live entertainment is big at Nusa Dua Fiesta 2018. From the first day to the fifth, every evening you can enjoy live bands which includes national headliners, as well as percussionists and local artists performing world music. There are also fashion shows by designer boutiques and tenants from the Bali Collection, the main shopping complex in Nusa Dua. Don’t miss a chance to watch the spectacular Devdan Show at the adjacent Nusa Dua Theatre on the main stage.

Happen to be planning to tie the knot in Bali? Don’t miss the wedding make-up expo and competition for some inspiration and perhaps meet up with the island’s best bridals and vendors. The evenings of days three and four feature the most highlighted entertainer line-ups, such as an Afro Reggae night with Bali’s most groovy bands taking the stage from 19:30, followed by a DJ collaboration with fire dancers from 21:30 at the main peninsula area.

Among the highlights of the closing day is a latte art competition, an exhibition and a showdown among the island’s best body-painting artists, a unique rendering of Bali’s iconic ‘kecak’ dance, together with an Indian dance performance. The main spectacle of the closing ceremony is a colossal dance performance titled Mentari Pulau Dewata or ‘Sun of the Island of the Gods’. Then more live bands keep up the vibe and conclude this year’s festival before midnight.

For this time, Indonesia is selected as the host country for IMF Event 2018. The international event is set to take place at Nusa Dua, Bali on 8 – 14 October 2018.

The IMF Event 2018 in Bali is expected to have around 12.000 – 15.000 people for attending the event.
