The 13th edition of the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival is scheduled to take place 26 – 30 October 2016.
Selected as the theme for the 2016 event is “Tat Tvam Asi” – an ancient Hindu tenet that expresses “I am you, you are me” – outlining the relationship between the individual and the supreme reality.
With equality and mutual concern at its very core – “Tat Tvam Asi” also serves as the underlying theme of the collective identity of Indonesia that strives to create a nation with people of diverse religious, ethnic, cultural and historical background seeking to live as a united people.

In the words of the organizers of the Festival – the 2016 Writers and Readers Festival choose at “Tat Tvam Asia” as it theme because the Ubud festival presents a gathering of “uncommon stories and meaningful connections, this theme is perhaps its truest representation.
