PART 4: “MY TIME” – THE SEVEN YEAR STORY FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET.

“My Time” – The Story continues….. In 2016 it was time for “My Time” to have another change of scenery. She was relocated to a boat building workshop in Tabanan.  No small feat this boat moving business – requiring a crane to load her securely onto a truck ready for the journey to Tabanan . Which incidentally took place at 2 am to avoid any traffic issuesOnce relocated safely to Tabanan “My Time’s” makeover continued. The mast had been removed for the journey so was reinstalled and set correctly on “My Time”. blank The most challenging and perhaps the cause of most of the delays was the construction of the keel. A crucial piece of equipment, part of the puzzle. After much research, consultation and consideration a new lead filled stainless steel keel was made in a local steelworks and weighed in at 1000 KG blank With the mast in place the sails were installed and tested. The deck gear, winches, blocks, cleats were purchased from Harken adding to the classic look that “My Time” was becoming. blank The rudder was laminated and hand crafted by Hassan and fitted in place. Electronics, lights, navigation, switches and gauges were all purchased and installed. The fuel tank and water tank that had previously been custom made was fitted in to “My Time” And not forgetting the convenience of a Porta Loo.! A new folding propeller that had been purchased from Austral Props in Australia was also fitted and tested. blank And finally a reinstall and testing of the motor. “My Time” is nearly complete… watch this space for the complete story
